Bocholier, Horace and the nuchal fold
What counts when we read a poem?
It’s school holidays here this week and we’re in Normandy for a few days, so I’m republishing a piece from the year before last about what ‘counts’ and what doesn’t when we are interpreting a poem. The poem I chose as the example is by one of my favourite living French poets, Gérard Bocholier.
